It was a long trip for Jim and Linda Sanger from their home in Hershey, Pennsylvania, to Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and then on to Sanger, Texas.
Why would they take such a detour? To be with their family and to help strengthen God’s church.
When Sanger Bible Church was formed, Dr. C’s brother and his wife, Linda, were excited to help and encourage the formation of a new church. SBC is a church designed to form a caring, Christian community. It wants to reach the rapidly growing community of Sanger. They have been a part of four other church starts in other locations with similar goals.
Jim and Linda have a long history of service to the Lord. They met at and graduated from Philadelphia College of Bible. A couple of years later they went to Trinity Evangelical Divinity School where Jim earned his Master of Divinity. After graduation they served in various church ministries – with youth, church planting in the Philippines, and pastoral ministry. Jim has been an elder and small group leader in their home church, GracePoint Evangelical Free Church in Palmyra, PA, from its beginning 11 years ago. Each of the last two summers he spent a month training pastors and church leaders in Uganda with Bible Christian Mission – Africa.
During their visit, Jim gave a message from Psalm 46, focusing on the impact of God’s presence in our lives, enjoyed Texas BBQ with the church, and had meaningful conversations.
Thank you, Jim and Linda, for your service!
Family ties run deep: whether we are blood relatives or members of the body of Christ, whether we live close or far apart.
